Cyrille Oswald Quartet
Cyrille Oswald started playing professionally in 1994 when living in the Caribbean. Upon returning to the Netherlands, he formed a Latin ensemble and studied at the Royal Conservatory of The Hague, where he received his Masters in 2001. Since then he recorded and played in the Netherlands and abroad with groups such as Cubop City Big Band, Nueva Manteca, Rumbata etc. Since 2008 Cyrille's been living mostly in Prague. After teaching at the Czech Jazz Workshop he soon founded his own quartet with top Czech players David Dorůžka (guitar), Tomáš Liška (bass) & Daniel Šoltis (drums) and recorded the group's debut album "The Wrong Present" on the Animal Music label. The music of this group could be called postmodern jazz and draws from many other musical ranges: world music, alternative and modern classical music.
